FDCPA and FCRA Defense

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), 15 U.S.C. § 1692 was enacted in 1977 to provide uniform standards for the treatment of consumers when collecting past-due accounts. The Act has successfully safeguarded the rights of consumers, and provided a regulatory framework for the third-party debt collection industry for more than 25 years. It is sometimes used in conjunction with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FRCA).

The lawyers at Traub Lieberman are experienced at defending corporations and individuals in FDCPA class action suits, including lawyers and other professionals who have been sued for Fair Debt Collections Practices Act violations. Working hand in hand with our professional liability practice group and outside professional organizations like ACA International, our experience and professionalism in this area allows us to maximize the success rate for our clients.
