Mike Burke is an experienced litigator who believes that a complete understanding of the facts and law at issue in a case is the key to obtaining a positive outcome.
With more than 25 years of experience successfully representing clients in major commercial and civil litigation in state and federal courts, Mike knows that having a complete and up to date understanding of the facts and law at issue in a matter is the key to obtaining a positive outcome. A senior trial counsel in the firm’s New York office, Mike firmly believes that there is never a good excuse for facing an adversary who has a better grasp of the case.
Providing timely and informative communication throughout the course of a matter, Mike represents clients in real estate, construction, product liability, employment, banking, and insurance matters at both the trial and appellate levels. He defends and advances the interests of residential and commercial building owners, litigates toxic tort matters, and handles product liability claims and mass tort litigation.
Mike’s toxic tort litigation has included significant cases involving the World Trade Center attacks, defending companies and property owners in tort matters. He has also represented manufacturers accused of selling products containing asbestos.
A graduate of Skidmore College who earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law, Mike represented the County of Westchester, New York in various types of litigation and governmental matters as an Assistant County Attorney before transitioning to private practice. Mike’s volunteer activities have included serving in government in the town where he resides and on several boards of his alma mater, Skidmore College. He is currently an elected member of his local Board of Education in Connecticut.
