Shellie Washington, an associate attorney in the firm’s Chicago office, focuses her practice on professional liability, insurance defense, construction law, and civil rights matters. She has extensive experience preparing witnesses for trial, composing appellate briefs, and researching and drafting memoranda. She applies thoughtful legal analysis and detailed research to each case, helping to evaluate the client’s position and bring forth relevant case law to strengthen litigation strategies.
Prior to joining Traub Lieberman, Shellie was an associate in the Chicago office of a national firm, where she focused her practice on toxic torts. She has also worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Civil Actions Bureau. Specifically in this role, she supported the Child Support Enforcement Division and the Criminal Prosecution Bureau in the Appeals division and Misdemeanor division. Shellie served as a staff attorney for the Honorable Leroy Martin Jr., a presiding judge in the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Shellie earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida A&M University.
When she is not practicing law, Shellie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and fiancé. She is an avid reader.
