Traub Lieberman Partner J. Patrick Carley, III to Speak at PLUS 2018 International Conference

Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP Partner J. Patrick Carley, III will be a featured panelist at the Professional Liability Underwriting Society’s upcoming 2018 International Conference. The Conference will take place in San Diego, California, from November 7-9, 2018.

Mr. Carley will be speaking on the panel titled “Insurance Agents & Brokers E&O 2019,” on November 8, 2018, at 3-4 pm. The panel will discuss the current claim trends in insurance agents and broker professional liability, the use of innovative risk migration technics and adjusting practices and their impact on the underwriting of the product as well as the claims handling and outcome. The panel will also discuss the vicarious liability of the carrier through the captive agent model and discuss additional measures that can and should be employed to decrease liability.

Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) is a non-profit organization with membership open to persons interested in the promotion and development of the professional liability industry. PLUS is recognized as the primary source of professional liability educational programs and seminars, assistance to its members to help serve clients, and information regarding professional liability.

J. Patrick Carley, III practices in Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP’s professional liability group, where he has represented insurance agents/brokers and attorneys in all phases of litigation. Mr. Carley also practices in the firm’s civil rights group, defending municipal police departments against claims for excessive force brought pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1983.
