Heather Jones

Associate

Heather focuses her practice on defending first-party property insurance cases as well as third-party liability lawsuits, including personal injury, construction defect, and premises liability matters.

Heather Jones is an associate in the firm’s St. Petersburg office who truly enjoys working with her clients and solving problems on their behalf quickly and efficiently.

Responsive, prepared, and proactive, Heather focuses her practice on defending first-party property insurance cases as well as third-party liability lawsuits, including personal injury, construction defect, and premises liability matters. Before joining the firm, Heather practiced in personal injury litigation. Her experience includes all aspects of litigation including discovery, motion practice, taking and defending depositions, mediation, trial, and post-trial motions, as well as a response to a petition for writ of certiorari.

Heather was recognized by Best Lawyers as a 2021 "Ones to Watch," a recognition given to younger attorneys for outstanding professional excellence in private practice in the United States. She was also named to the 2020 and 2016 "Rising Stars" list by Super Lawyers

Heather published an article titled “The Seductive Power of a Motion to Dismiss for Fraud on the Court.” She is a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and its local chapters, and served as the 2017 Chair of the Young Lawyers Section Board of Directors of the Florida Justice Association.

After graduating, cum laude, from the University of Florida, Heather earned an M.B.A from Stetson University and her law degree from Stetson University College of Law. While in law school, she took her first case to trial as a Certified Legal Intern for the Public Defender’s Office of the 6th Judicial Circuit. Heather also participated in the Stetson AAJ Civil Trial Competitions in which she was awarded Best Advocate in a Preliminary Round and Most Professional Team. She also earned the Doyle Conflict High Grade Award for the top grade in her Negotiation and Mediation class as well as the Advocacy Certificate of Concentration and Leadership Certificate, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society.

When not serving her clients, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, watching college football, and exploring the St. Petersburg area.
