Traub Lieberman Partner Lisa M. Rolle obtained a motion to dismiss in favor of a global hotel chain. In the case brought before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, the Plaintiff alleged that the hotel chain was negligent in its operation of a hotel in Israel, resulting in a slip and fall accident on the premises. As a result of the fall, the Plaintiff claimed to have sustained severe and permanent injuries. The Plaintiff claimed the hotel corporate entity is a limited liability company incorporated in Delaware, holds a primary place of business in Georgia, and is authorized to do business in the State of New York. The Court granted the pre-answer motion to dismiss based upon lack of personal jurisdiction.
