Mr. Macklin is an associate in the firm’s Chicago office where he practices in the firm’s insurance coverage group. Mr. Macklin represents insurers and provides coverage advice on a wide-range of commercial lines policies, including commercial general liability policies, commercial property policies, and excess and umbrella insurance policies. His coverage experience includes policy interpretation, bad faith and extra-contractual liability issues, and litigation of declaratory judgment actions. Mr. Macklin also acts as counsel for insurers in first-party property disputes and trial monitoring counsel for excess insurers in high-exposure cases.
Mr. Macklin received his juris doctor from the John Marshall Law School. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Anne M. Burke on the Illinois Supreme Court. Mr. Macklin currently serves as the legislative liaison for the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyer Section Insurance Coverage Committee and sits on the Board of Directors of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago.
