One of the founding members of Traub Lieberman, Meryl R. Lieberman’s
practice concentrates in environmental and toxic tort coverage
litigation; complex insurance coverage disputes and counseling
involving intellectual property and advertising injury; employment
liability and discrimination; directors and officers (D&O)
liability; property damage and first party coverage; general
liability; and insurance policy drafting. She has litigated
through appeal many major environmental and toxic tort declaratory
judgment and rescission actions nationwide.
Ms. Lieberman was a member of a special
advisory panel to the United States Environmental Protection
Agency and participated in a focus group of ASTM drafting
guidelines for the insurability of housing containing lead-based
paint. She has authored Shelter from the Storm: EPA’s
Lender Liability Rule (NY STATE BAR JOURNAL; Superfund Reform
(Insurance Law & Practice); and many articles for the
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society. She is a
member of the American Bar Association and the Westchester
Women’s Bar Association. She is a frequent lecturer
and author on many topics covering insurance coverage.
Ms. Lieberman was admitted to the New York
Bar in 1982 and is also admitted to practice before the United
States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts
of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the
Fourth Circuit. She graduated from New York Law School in
1981 with a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude. She was
an Editor of the Law Review and the recipient of the Murray
Stockman Memorial Award for the highest average in Evidence.
In 1978, Ms. Lieberman received a B.A. magna cum laude from City College of New York in Urban Legal Studies. |
