Joye B. Walford is senior appellate counsel with extensive experience handling complex civil appeals and providing high‑level trial support in state and federal courts. Having spent more than 20 years as a staff attorney at the Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa, Joye brings a deep understanding of appellate procedure, judicial decision‑making, and the nuances that shape successful appellate advocacy. She is detail-orientated and extremely organized, ensuring thorough and precise work in every case.
Before joining the Firm, Joye was a shareholder in the Appellate Practice and Trial Support Group of a civil insurance defense firm, where she drafted appellate briefs across multiple Florida district courts and presented oral arguments. Her trial‑level work includes drafting and arguing motions for summary judgment in complex insurance disputes—with an exceptional success rate—and preparing a wide range of motions. Joye also has experience providing coverage opinions in first‑party insurance matters.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Joye moved to Florida to attend the University of South Florida in Tampa and has called the state home ever since. She earned her law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, taking Pure Barre classes, paddleboarding, and watching foreign crime dramas.
