In this matter brought in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, Traub Lieberman Attorneys Lisa Rolle and James Wise won motion to dismiss in favor of a religious nonprofit organization. The Plaintiff alleged violations of the New York City Victims in Gender Motivated Violence Act (the “GMVA) occurring more than 40 years prior. The issue before the Court was whether such a claim occurring many decades prior can be maintained under the GMVA. After review of the relevant case information, the Court found that the Plaintiff’s action is time-barred and the motion to dismiss was granted in favor of the Defendants.
