Litigation Paralegal | Hawthorne, NY

Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP is seeking an Experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the general liability defense team of our Hawthorne, New York office.

The Position:
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with relevant experience to join a dynamic and collegial team in a national law firm. The ideal candidate should be dependable, organized and motivated to participate in the all phases of litigation.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate/degree
  • Litigation experience; insurance defense experience preferred
  • Superior communication, writing, and research skills
  • Attention to detail, organizations skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the attorneys in all phases of litigation
  • Conduct medical records review, prepare medical record and deposition summaries, prepare and respond to discovery responses
  • Assist in online research
  • Provide motion and trial support
  • Participate in legal projects with partners

Legal Assistant | Hawthorne, NY

Traub Lieberman is seeking a highly motivated experienced Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys (partners and associates) in its Hawthorne, New York location. 

Responsibilities 

  • Typing general correspondence, memoranda, and complex legal documents 
  • Prepare correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas and stipulations 
  • Electronic filing experience in Federal and State courts 
  • File documents in multiple jurisdictions 
  • Prepare TOC and TOA for Briefs 
  • Proofreading documents and check for appropriate formatting, spelling, and grammar 
  • Conflict check and file creation paperwork 
  • Organize and maintain file documents 
  • Arrange meetings, conferences, travel, transportation and hotel reservations 
  • Follow-up on delegated assignments 
  • Attorney billing and expense reports (Juris Suite experience a plus) 


Qualifications 

  • High school diploma (Bachelor’s Degree a plus) 
  • 2-3 years insurance defense litigation experience preferred 
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work with accuracy 
  • Strong working knowledge of court procedures 
  • Excellent typing and organization skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs 
  • Positive attitude 
  • Team Player 
  • Able to work overtime (on occasion)

PA bar, judicial clerkship and/or coverage experience a plus.
